Our new Portfolio release adds support for the latest OS X, advanced reporting features, and more
With the explosion of digital assets and media over the past decade, companies are struggling to keep them organized and accessible while ensuring version control. Locating and distributing files has become a major time and productivity killer.
Fortunately, Extensis Portfolio™ makes digital asset management (DAM) affordable for companies of all sizes. Originally released in October 2014, Portfolio transformed the user experience with suggested, guided search capabilities, millisecond results, a sleek new user interface and elegant thumbnail views. It’s used by hundreds of Fortune 5000 companies. And it’s just been updated to make it better than ever.
Portfolio has added full compatibility with Apple® OS X® Yosemite (v10.10) and advanced reporting options. It’s also faster than ever, with new features that increase the efficiency of importing, copying, updating, converting and exporting assets.
Although it doesn’t come naturally to everyone, organization is an essential part of a professional design process. For me it’s taken a bit of conditioning and some helpful tools to get my asset system into great shape. Sure, it takes time, but once you have a practice in place, your workflow will run as smooth as aged whiskey.
In this post I’ll share insights into my digital asset management process. As a seasoned pro, I’ve picked up on a few tricks of the trade that have been monumental to the success of my projects. My go-to tool for digital asset management is Portfolio Server—a handy and highly-visual DAM system. As an essential part of my design process, Portfolio Server offers huge productivity benefits. Here are my top three:

I stumbled across a great interview with Tom Bilson of The Courtauld Institute of Art. Ian Matzen from Tame Your Assets, talks with Tom about how the museum handles their assets via a DAMS and answers several other interesting questions. Have a look:
I am happy to announce the arrival of Portfolio Flow, a new mobile app for uploading items from your device directly to Portfolio Server with searchable metadata!

Recently I attended the annual Educause conference in Anaheim, California. Educause is the main event where higher education professionals and technology companies come together. The big and small vendors were all present including Dell, Microsoft, Panasonic and McGraw Hill.
Several seminars and events were held and attendees had the chance to get ‘up close and personal’ with the latest trends in technology and how to integrate more easily with the needs of higher education.
