Extensis Portfolio achieves its largest revenue quarter in company’s twelve-year history
February 14th, 2006 by Jim Kidwell
Release of digital asset management solution — Portfolio 8 — fuels record sales for Extensis.
Extensis, a division of Celartem Inc., today announced sales for its digital asset management (DAM) solution – Portfolio, have surpassed Extensis’ existing record for quarterly net revenue. Extensis finished the 2005 calendar year with a 39 percent growth over the preceding year for Portfolio sales while increasing the product’s total corporate workgroup revenue 204 percent over the same period.
“Extensis is encouraged by its strong financial performance coming into 2006,” said Kevin Hurst, Vice President of Marketing for Extensis. “We have worked very hard to service the growing needs of creative professionals through the release of Portfolio 8 at the end of last year. Our continued investment and commitment to this market has brought us profitability, gold-standard products and exceptional customer service for our users.”
Extensis purchased the very first digital asset management program, then titled Aldus Fetch®, from Adobe® in1996. After a complete engineering rewrite, the product was re-launched under the Extensis brand as Portfolio. In the past decade, Extensis has added cross-platform parity, engineered a workgroup focused, Server-based solution and has been awarded a patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Most recently, Extensis shipped version 8 of the Portfolio product family earning a much-coveted “Best in Show” award at the 2005 MacExpo event in the United Kingdom.
“Celartem is very pleased with Extensis’ dramatic impact on the digital asset management market,” said Carlos Domingo, CEO of Celartem Inc. “Extensis continues to deliver quality products and break sales records. In fact, we have seen the Portfolio product line more than double its annual revenue since we acquired Extensis in 2002.”
Extensis also develops and sells the top selling professional font management products Suitcase Server, Suitcase Fusion and Font Reserve Server. Extensis’ current customers include the cream of the crop in advertising, publishing, services and manufacturing. Included, among many others, are Fed-Ex, Ducati Motors, Pearson Publishing, Hallmark, MTV Networks and Ogilvy & Mather.
